HeatShield Chimney Repair Nationwide

Every visit starts with

Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed

Worth knowing

Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

HeatShield Chimney Repair in Virginia Beach: What to Know First

We provide independent HeatShield chimney repair throughout Virginia Beach, and most jobs are completed in a single visit with no-hassle upfront pricing agreed before we start. HeatShield flue liners, smoke chambers, and resurfacing systems are built to last, but coastal humidity, salt air, and decades of thermal cycling eventually find every weak point. If your HeatShield product needs attention, we’ll tell you exactly what’s wrong, show you photos, and fix only what needs fixing.

This page is for Virginia Beach homeowners who already have a HeatShield product installed and need it repaired properly. You might live in a 1980s colonial off Great Neck Road, a ranch near Chic’s Beach, or a newer build in Red Mill - wherever you are, we’ve likely serviced a HeatShield system nearby. Call (757) 573-9998. A live person answers, 24 hours a day.

How HeatShield Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

  • Cerfractory Foam Smoke Chamber Resurfacing cracks and pulls away from brick. In Virginia Beach’s older homes, especially those near the Lynnhaven River with crawl-space moisture issues, the foam layer can delaminate where the original brick was never fully cleaned. We grind back to sound substrate, reapply with proper bonding agents, and cure it to HeatShield’s temperature spec. The flue either drafts right or it doesn’t - there’s no in-between worth living with.
  • HeatShield ProLiner develops pinholes at the seam overlaps. The ProLiner’s overlapping joint design is solid when new, but after 15-20 years of expansion and contraction, the seam adhesive can degrade. We see this most in Oceanfront-area homes where wind-driven rain keeps the flue exterior damp longer. Our fix: partial section replacement with OEM-compatible ProLiner segments, not generic sleeve liners that void the remaining warranty coverage.
  • HeatShield UL Listed Flue Liner shows spalling at the top course. The upper exposed section takes the worst thermal shock and salt-air corrosion. We remove the damaged course, inspect the underlying brick for freeze-thaw damage, and install a matching replacement section with a proper termination cap. If the original cap was a builder-grade unit, we upgrade to a Gelco or Copperfield cap that vents properly.
  • Smoke chamber parging fails at the throat transition. The corbeled brick area above the damper is the hardest-working square foot in any chimney. HeatShield’s parging is excellent, but if the original mason left voids or the damper frame has shifted, the parging cracks and falls. We rebuild the throat with proper corbel support, then reapply HeatShield Cerfractory to a sound base.
  • Waterproofing failure on HeatShield-crowned chimneys. HeatShield crowns are durable, but the waterproofing membrane or sealant applied over them has a service life. In Virginia Beach’s climate, with an average 47 inches of annual rainfall and prolonged summer humidity, that membrane degrades faster than inland. We strip and reseal with breathable, siloxane-based waterproofing - never a non-breathing coating that traps moisture and accelerates spalling.

Our HeatShield Chimney Repair Process

  1. 1
Call and schedule. A live person answers, day or night. We book a window that works for you - no app, no callback queue.
  2. 2
Level-2 camera inspection. Our technician runs a camera the full length of your HeatShield flue or smoke chamber. You see the footage in real time. We document cracks, delamination, or deterioration with photos and give you a plain-English verdict.
  3. 3
Parts decision. If your HeatShield component needs replacement, we source OEM-compatible parts or factory-direct HeatShield materials. We explain when OEM matters for warranty preservation and when a quality aftermarket option from our DuraFlex or Gelco inventory is the smarter repair.
  4. 4
Upfront pricing. We give you one number. That’s the number on the invoice. No surprises.
  5. 5
The repair. Our background-checked, uniformed technician completes most HeatShield repairs in a single visit. We follow HeatShield’s cure schedules and temperature protocols - no shortcuts.
  6. 6
Final test and documentation. We run another camera pass, verify draft performance, and leave you with photos, a written report, and our 90-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If it’s not right, we come back. No arguing.

What HeatShield Chimney Repair Costs in Virginia Beach

Most HeatShield repairs in Virginia Beach fall between these ranges:

Repair Type Typical Range
Smoke chamber resurfacing (Cerfractory Foam) $1,200 - $2,400
ProLiner section repair or partial replacement $900 - $1,800
Flue liner top-course replacement with cap $650 - $1,400
Throat transition rebuild with parging $800 - $1,600
Crown reseal and waterproofing $450 - $950

What moves the price: accessibility (steep roof, tight chase), extent of hidden damage found during inspection, and whether we need to match a discontinued HeatShield series. We always find the damage first - nothing is recommended without camera evidence you can see yourself. Call (757) 573-9998 for a free estimate. The number we give you is the number you’ll pay.
